Today I finally have a day to myself without visitors, in-laws or anyone else to ferry around the city (apart from the usual school run). My mother-in-law’s visit coincides with a visit from husband’s boss and his wife – all wanting to buy sombreros and t-shirts with “Hecho en Mexico” written on them. They are now all off for a few days experiencing one of the greatest train journeys in the world.

Actually a moment’s peace is a bit ambitious with an 8 month old who has in the last 2 weeks learnt to crawl, pull herself up, get up stairs and cruise the furniture. This major developmental spurt means I am getting up every few minutes to rescue her from some precarious position. This post has taken about 3 hours to write!
