I've never been to Vancouver but you make it sound great (like Perth but with easy access to snow - how can you go wrong?). Exile would be good for a long flight - it would keep you going all the way to the States probably, and its very absorbing. Plus its got a little bit of romance too, so its not all war and politics! Last year when they did "Christmas around the World", some of the mothers were concerned that their daughters' African costumes (muu muus) weren't feminine or pretty enough!
